And by the way: "THIS is really about that."
We treasure things most because they point to something beyond themselves. Photos, tokens, an artwork our kids did...we love them, because they point to something else more real.

My paintings may be about whatever: the ocean, a refuge, or a tiny violet; but the effect on the viewer makes the painting REALLY about something else... something in their heart, their life, their suffering, their hope.

Auvers, France (near Vincent Van Gogh's Churchyard)
My paintings are really about that. They are always about something else than what immediately registers on the eyes. Something deeper. Something behind it all. I hope my paintings will pave the way to that something. I don't want to make paintings that simply hang on a wall. I want beauty to help pave your way...to freedom, to answers, to truth, to whatever you need.

"Simone Weil said, “Beauty and affliction are the only two things that can pierce our hearts. Because this is true, we must have a measure of beauty in our lives proportionate to our affliction. No... more. Much more”

I hope you find beauty here.
I hope your heart is pierced.
