"Accomplished national award winning artist Lyn Lasneski has won entry into the 2011 Oil Painters of America national competition. This prestigious event admits only 160 out of approximately 4,000 entries annually. The applicants include some of the best known artists in the country. However, judges do not know the artists they are judging until after they have made their selections. This third win now qualifies Lyn for her master artist ranking. Many in Oregon and other states already know Lyn's talent as both artist and art instructor.
She enables students of all levels, including beginners, to succeed far beyond their expectations. Some have even become accomplished artists in their own right and are featured in art galleries around the country. Students come from far and wide to take 3-5 day workshops at Lyn's Depoe Bay studio knowing they will take home a painting to be proud of.

In 2011 Oil Painters of America will celebrate its twentieth anniversary. To mark this special occasion, OPA is planning a memorable opening weekend at our Twentieth National Juried Exhibition to be held at Devin Galleries, June 10 - July 9, 2011. We hope that all OPA members will take part in this significant milestone and join in all of the fabulous educational events being planned. Called the “Playground of the Northwest” Coeur d’Alene offers beautiful scenery, whitewater activities, a 120 acre waterfront preserve and the world’s longest floating boardwalk. With nearly 7000 sq. ft. of space the Devin Galleries will host an opening reception for artists, collectors, the public and the press on Friday June 10, 2011.

Our goal is to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.

The total awards will be in excess of $50,000, including a $25,000 Best In Show. The awarding juror for the 2011 exhibition will be an internationally renowned Master Signature member. Artists who reside in the United States, Canada and Mexico and are either 2011 OPA members or have submitted an application for membership or renewal for 2011 are welcome to apply for this exhibition. Artists whose residency is in question must provide OPA with documentation certifying legal residency.
