In this section we intend to put plenty of testimonies (both video and photographs); so that you can know YOU CAN PAINT.
The photos below are from only 4 of the students we had up at Art's Desire in March of this year.
Please look closely at each of the paintings and note that their own style comes through whether intended it or not! The beauty of artistic style...
This is Bev, she owns Arts Desire in Vancouver, Washington. Lots of great art classes there! I suggest you check out her website and all the fabulous instructors she gets there. (But of course, come see me first!)
I'll share this one more from that class, because I am so dang proud of him. This is Bill and he's 85 years old! Just started painting with me about a year or two ago! Oh and by the way: he's Barbara's dad! Her painting is below.
This is Dan Dunn, a fabulous artist from the Spokane area. He particularly likes flowers. Another beautiful painting!!! A friend pointed out he's got a face that looks like an "old master artist" himself, doesn't he? Someone should do a portrait of him, don't ya think?
This version was done by Barbara Kreig. A woman with a dear soul and a flair for color and beauty. (She was too shy to be in the photo.) But her work is just arresting, isn't it?!
Hi Lyn!
Congratulations on your OPA status! I know you will do outstanding in the competition.
I just wanted to send you a note to let you know how often I think about you and your amazing gift for art and especially for teaching art. You are my hero and my mentor.
I wish I were able to take more classes from you. You have taught me (and continue to teach me) so much. I hope you don't mind, but I got to your web site over and over again to look at your seascapes and to learn from what you have done.
I still think you paint the most beautiful seascapes I have ever seen. I am trying to emulate your work, but obviously I have a long way to go. I have attached a copy of one of my recent paintings. When I look at it, I imagine you critiquing it for me and giving me suggestions on how to improve it. I can see many things I would do (and will do) differently next time, but so far I am enjoying my progress. I suppose no artist is ever completely satisfied with there work.
I am working on another right now and almost finished. I will send you a copy if you are interested. I'm sure you get a lot of email and may not want to get lots of unsolicited pictures to look at, so let me know if you would rather not.
I have taken classes from lots of very good artists over the past few years, but I would like to tell you that YOU are far ahead of the pack as far as your ability to inspire and to teach. Some artist can paint well - others are good teachers, but you have it all.
Congrats again, and thanks for all you do.
Sincerely,
Roger Lily

Your paintings make my heart sing. I see there is a lot of singing out there, congratulations!
